- Best grilled or barbecued . A simple recipe would be to wash and wipe the whole trout and lay in shallow dish. Sprinkle with lemon juice, mixed herbs and 1tbsp water, cover with foil. Cook at 180°C/ 350°F/Gas Mark 4 for 10-15 mins.
