British cooked and shelled whelks - a taste of the seaside.
Caught for us by East Coast of England fishermen. These Whelks are removed from their shells, cooked and ready to eat. Please note that they are not graded and the fishermen bring us all of their catch therefore the sizes will vary and Whelks can live for up to 15 years, therefore some of the larger ones can be quite tough due to the muscle.

Serving Suggestions
Our favourite recipe - Chop the whelks and fry in butter, add 50ml white wine and flambé. Add 30ml pernod and 150ml double cream. Warm through and season and serve with crusty white bread.
