Mussels Au Gratin

Cooking Method/Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C /Gas Mark 6
  2. Mix together the parsley, garlic, breadcrumbs, cheese, grated rind of one lime and juice of half the lime. Season and mix with the olive oil. Blend thoroughly.
  3. Spilt the mussels in half and discard the empty shells leaving the mussel meat in the half shell. Top each mussel with the breadcrumb mixture and arrange in a shallow ovenproof dish.
  4. Bake for approximately 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Arrange on a plate and serve immediately


  • 500g Connemara Mussels (half pack) defrosted
  • Fresh chopped parsley
  • 2 cloves of garlic - peeled
  • 6 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 6 tbsp parmesan cheese - grated
  • Grated rind of 1 lime and juice of half a lime
  • Salt and black pepper
