Simply a smaller version of cod but some say that it boasts a more delicate flavour. Supplied as skin on fillets; some bones may remain.

Serving Suggestion:
Bake the codling at 200°C/400°F/Gas Mark 6 for 10-12 minutes and leave to cool. Scoop out the potato from baked potato’s and mash well with butter and one egg. Add grated Gruyere cheese and the flaked codling, place back into the potato skins. Dot with butter and a dusting of cayenne and bake at 220°C/400°F/Gas Mark 7 for 7-10 mins.
